Movie question

Sorry book people, but I'm going to abuse this forum for a moment to solicit some much-needed advice. And I thought y'all would probably have some good ideas. I am having a movie watching party, part of a series of cheesy but funny foreign movies like Bride and Prejudice and Shaolin Soccer, and am going to make ethnic food to go with it. But this time I am kind of stumped on choosing a movie/country theme. So... any ideas? Something hilarious and also possibly Christmassy? Thankssssss

not christmassy but funny are the russian film "the cuckoo" or the finish film "the man without a past." neither of them come from countries whose "ethnic" food is "hot" right now but the fins have some great fish dishes and, well, russia food i just never got into. but they do make a mean vodka.

on a more serious note, but from a country with more popular food, "9 queens" from argentina is a great con artist film

it depends on how unusual you want it to be. there are plenty of great chinese or japanese movies out there (for example Ozu's Good Morning would be a blast) but if japanese cuisine is just too common, well then...
why don't you just get a couple of rotisserie chickens and watch chicken run. thats british, which is a different country than the u.s. of a.

I suggest watching Svankmajer's Little Otik and eatching some Czech food. And, then, if you want to kill your brain, watching some Brother Quay...sure, they were born in Pennsylvania, but they moved out of the country a while ago...

Ooh...better suggestion:

Watch Fruit Chan's Dumplings and then eat dumplings that are made out of aborted fetuses! It would be like you were a part of the movie!

Now everyone hates me...

its not that we hate you. its just that...well...maybe hate is the right word. fetus-eating weirdo.

I can only think of a couple.

1. Leningrad Cowboys Go America, great movie and you get to eat Finnish food. Everyone loves Finnish food.

2. Any of Peter Jacksons early work. The ones I am thinking of would be Meet the Feebles, Heavenly Creatures and of coarse Bad Taste. If you watch Bad Taste I suggest eating Sheep Brain, I think it would go well.

Its too bad Soylent Green isn't a foreign movie. There are some people I would like killed, at it would be a big help if you guys could serve them as dinner. You know, get rid of the bodies for me.
