Ann Patchett and Bernardo Bertolucci

I know there are some fans of Ann Patchett and Bel Canto floating around out there. So I thought this would be a story of interest. It looks like Bernardo Bertolucci, one of the great living directors, who gave us Dreamers, Stealing Beauty, the Last Emporer, and Last Tango in Paris, is going to direct Bel Canto. The book must be sexy. Bertolucci doesn't mind doing sexy.

Yes, yes...I do recall a few steamy scenes from Bel Canto. I will put the film on my film list.

Well, no, but I only read the first 8 or so pages it's not like I got half way through and found it boring. Nuts? Are you kidding?

Hmmm, am I kidding? Not sure.
Is that supposed to be like "of course I'm nuts, why do you even ask?"
or is it more "Bel Canto's first 8 pages sucked, who would read past those?
