When I was a kid...

Since we are on the topic of Children's book I thought I would take a moment to mention some books I recently came across that I loved as a child. Please, someone else tell me you remember "reading" Frank Asch. I stared at these books for countless hours when I was just a wee thing, totally mesmerized by the pictures, so desperately wanting to eat mooncake!

Other favorite childhood books??

"happy birthday, moon" was one of my favorite along with "the very hungry caterpillar" but nothing, i mean nothing, could touch "goodnight moon."

Joyce is genius and all but common, as good as "Goodnight Moon"? Be realistic Chris. I know you have an MA in Lit and all but don't get carried away trying to push off obscure and over-hyped Beckham-type books as better then Ronaldo-style "Goodnight Moon"
