The Last Temptation of Christ
If any of y'all want to join Amber's and my cozy little reading club (and when I say cozy, I mean very, very intimate-- probably just Amber and myself in the end), we are planning on reading The Last Temptation of Christ for the end of December. So, start reading and you, too, can be part of that discussion. Yeah!

I plan on starting Against the Day as soon is comes out on Nov 21 with the projected goal of finishing off the 1000+ pages by the end of next December. So, I'll be tied up until then.
Also, Mark Z Danielewsi's Only Revolutions was a fun read. So, you know, read it.
Next December, as in this coming one? As in ONE MONTH? Or a whole year? You're either very ambitious, or very realistic (or maybe both)...
I happen to know that most of you have either read this book already or have been meaning to pick it up for years! Now is your chance to be a part of an amazing dialogue...with two brilliant and of course beautiful young ladies!
I picked up the book this weekend! I read the prologue and the first chapter and was pretty blown away. This is my first "religious" read in quite awhile; I am interested to see how I and others respond to it.
I'm with you on that one, I haven't read much of anything religous in ages, maybe even since bethel...
I'm buying and reading it, just to join a conversation. As I told WHB, I also just bought 100 Years of Solitude, and the Delta of Venus, both of which I shall attempt to read before Last Temptation arrives.
can't wait till you guys get into it. i really enjoyed this book when i read it during lent. kazantzakis is a great writer and his book on st. francis is supposed to be awesome. i have been waiting forever (really only two years) to talk to someone about this. email me when matthew starts to write his gospel so we can talk.
